As an artist and a designer I am alway looking for new inspiration and motivation, from other designers to musicians to writers and more. I have found that this is no different when is comes to running and athletics. In fact, I know many runners that can do for miles and miles without their iPod. I am not that person. I love running, but part of it is that I get to listen to great music and just zone out. Meditate.

Living in Los Angeles I was turned on to listening to KCRW about 3 years ago. I didn't know what I was missing. Now, it's rare I can listen to anything else on the radio. It only took me 2 years before I knew that I needed to be a member of this amazing station. So, this year I signed up as a first time member. Not only do I get great "Fringe" benefits, free tickets, newsletters and more, but I also get a daily dose of inspiration. In fact, everyday I come into work, the first thing I do (after getting a cup of coffee) is turn on Morning Becomes Eclectic with Jason Bentley, and I am set until 12 noon (sometimes I even wait to use the restroom on new breaks so I don't miss a beat, their have been some near misses with that).

There was even a week here where I couldn't get my daily dose of MBE because our company was streaming too much so the bandwidth was getting tied up, and we were asked to stop streaming all content. It took me a week, but I found a small and inexpensive AM/FM radio (yes they still exist) to have at my desk so I could still get my KCRW!

I think as a web designer and outdoor junkie it's difficult for us to sit in front of a computer 10 hours a day or more and stay motivated and inspired. I know two large parts of how I get through it are my physical activity outside at lunch and listening music.

Which finally leads me to my playlist of songs (Top 20, there's just too many) that are both upbeat and soulful. Enjoy!
