When you think of exercise, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it walking or jogging, maybe taking a bike ride or following an aerobics tape? If this is what you are thinking, you are partially correct.

Exercise should consist of three parts: cardiovascular (aerobic) training, strength training, and flexibility training. It is very important to include all three of these components in your program. Many people associate exercise with just cardiovascular activity-that includes activities such as walking, biking, jogging, and aerobic tapes along with many others. For some, doing work around the house is thought of as exercise. Although you may sweat a little or really feel like you've done something, it isna well-rounded exercise program. An effective exercise program must include all three components. Let's take a look.
