How to Put the Important Things First: 3. Write your priorities down on paper

This is as simple as it seems. Write down on paper the things you see as your highest priorities. After you've done this place it in a spot where you will see it every day. This spot can be on your bathroom mirror, the dashboard of your car or on your refrigerator. You need to be reminded of your priorities on a regular basis or else you will get distracted by the "urgent" things that don't build into your goals or values.
